OUR STORY

Our story began almost 9 years ago over a shared love of cooking and exploring different cuisines. Through dating, moving to a new state, an engagement, marriage, and moving back to Oregon, cooking for our people and each other has been the consistent foundation of who we are as individuals and as a couple. We have dreamt for years about creating a place for community to gather over the love of creative, bright, comforting food and after a year’s worth of preparation, Lulu was created.

 

Lulu means an outstanding example of a particular type of person or thing. Through the ingredients and recipes inspired by the food of Hawaii, our intention with every plate served is that Lulu represents this concept with dignity and respect for the place it was inspired by. We are excited to give back by sending regular donations to The Women’s Fund of Hawaii who provide services for women’s financial security and girls’ leadership, addressing the factors that stand in the way of women’s success and promotes their well-being.
